The Ellen Hermanson Foundation (The Foundation) is proud to announce that renowned author, breast cancer survivor and advocate Geralyn Lucas will be honored at The Foundation’s Annual Summer Gala on Friday, July 24, 2026, at the Bridgehampton Tennis & Surf Club, in recognition of her extraordinary leadership and commitment to breast cancer awareness, education, and early detection.

The James Lane Post interviewed Board member Cathy Tweedy on her journey with The Ellen Hermanson Foundation. Cathy went to her first Ellen’s Run and recalls the time when Emily Levin, Ellen’s sister and one of the people who started the Foundation, grabbed her from the volunteer table that morning and asked her to stand outside as the race began. 

Little did she know that answering an ad from the Foundation to volunteer would lead to her now serving as Secretary of the Board. 

The Ellen Hermanson Foundation announced that it awarded $335,000 in grants for its fiscal year ending December 31, 2025. Recipients include the Bridgehampton Child Care and Recreational Center, Organizacion Latino Americana of Eastern Long Island, Peconic Bay Medical Center Foundation, the Southampton Hospital Foundation and The Retreat.

The Ellen Hermanson Foundation (TEHF) is excited to announce the return of Ellen’s Well, a partnership-based psycho-social group support and wellness program of the organization. With the retirement of longtime oncological social worker Edyle O’Brien in 2024, TEHF is proud to announce Mary Alyce Rogers, LCSW, as the new Program Director for Ellen’s Well.
